A journey of perfect balance ~ safari & sea, adventure & rest
Deep in the heart of the Great Rift Valley is an oasis, fed by crystal clear springs running off the Loita and Ngurumann escarpment, forming an abundant, unfenced natural corridor for the passage of more wildlife species than anywhere else in East Africa. Here, you are invited to disconnect from the pressures of the everyday and immerse yourself in a vibrant ecosystem, with the UNESCO protected healing salt-water lakes of Natron and Magadi in the distance. Then, we fly to Lamu Island, a stunning tropical paradise, with endless white sand beaches and mellow sunsets over the Indian Ocean. Feel energized with exclusive adventures and cultural encounters, feel aligned with daily yoga and meditation, and feel pampered in luxe, handpicked eco-lodges.
Anticipate a journey with…
Masai culture
Stay on land responsibly leased from the local Masai community, and be delighted by colourful cultural encounters including a ‘Boma’ visit to meet local elders and community members who play a pivotal role in tourism and conservation in the area. The lodge staff is 95% local Masai and so every day is an opportunity to learn and discover.
Next level luxury
Both locations are 5-star, boutique and handpicked by Nina. Our safari lodge has suites each with their own private plunge pools overlooking the Rift Valley. In Lamu, we’ll have views over the Indian Ocean, and access to private beaches and dinning areas under the stars. Both locations pride themselves on their ecological friendliness and local, seasonal produce.
Epic Adventures
Aside from daily guided safari drives, we have many epic excursions planned. Anticipate hikes with a Masai guide in the Nguruman escarpment and Loita hills; half-day tours to Lake Natron and Lake Magadi, a day-trip through the Lamu archipelago on a private dhow (‘wooden sailing boat’), a kayak trip to a mangrove forest, and not to mention the safari charter flights!
Expert & safe travel planning
Every aspect of this 10 day wilderness retreat has been expertly planned. We believe that in order to receive the magic of travel and nature we have to be in the right mindspace. We invite you to let your mind rest and your body feel energised - access the present moment and drink in the magnificent views knowing that every minor and major detail is taken care of, from accommodation to activities to all transport and catering.
Conservation in action
Lentorre lodge is on 23,000 hectares of privately owned land, known as the Olkiramatian Conservancy. The bordering ranch, Shompole Conservancy, comprises 60,000 hectares. We will have access to both properties for safari drives and walks with the freedom to roam and no other vehicles or lodges nearby. A huge portion of the costs for staying here go directly to the preservation of these pristine wilderness areas.
Wellbeing & relaxation
Thrive on daily yoga and meditation in inspiring settings with Nina. Let the rhythm of your breath and body in mindful movement soothe you and open your heart to the unique magic of Kenya. This retreat experience is going to be totally immersive - an invitation to you to disconnect from the pressures of everyday life, and reconnect with your wild-ness.
Guest reviews on this retreat
“The venue and the staff at the lodge were very good. To name a few of the incredible Masai staff, thank you to Stephen, Gerald, Joel and Ken. Superb chef. Beautiful spot. Our accommodation was lovely. Our days were well organized with early morning game walks, daily yoga, visits to villages, lakes, another beautiful lodge and the enjoyable afternoon game drives with sundowner stops. It was an unforgettable time and I feel very blessed to have been part of the Kenyan retreat. I felt re charged with a wonderful feeling of well being.”
— SONJA, 2024“Inretreat, that really does explain how you feel. I have never experienced a time when I’ve been so present. So present of my surroundings and the nature around me; of myself and my own emotions and feelings and of the beauty of the people around me. I felt truly at peace and lucky to be there, to be me. That is a feeling I will cherish forever and can’t thank Nina and the incredible strong woman who came on the trip enough.
I would recommend taking the leap and going!”
— ZEA, 2024“Lentorre Lodge was absolutely fabulous! Everything from the rooms to the dining areas to the hide were amazing. It was as if someone took a slice of paradise and put it in the middle of the most breathtaking nature with views that went on forever! The hosts, staff and guides could not have been more accommodating! They were superb! Nina is by far the very best yoga teacher I’ve ever taken yoga lessons from! She was incredibly knowledgeable which she passed onto us in each lesson making them memorable. She was also very tuned into our individual limitations and helped each of us with them. Something very rare! The yoga sessions were very enjoyable because of her and her teachings!”
— RACHEL, 2024“I’ve had the extraordinary luck to be able to join this inretreat….. twice! It’s a perfect combination of adventure and relaxation. Kenya holds such incredible beauty. I loved the excursions… paddling, snorkelling but there was plenty of time to relax. Yoga is by far the best I’ve experienced. The way Nina weaves philosophy throughout the practice… loved! Overall, this is my favourite… from start to finish. I was able to free fall into this retreat with absolutely no worries. Nina worked tirelessly behind the scenes so everything was taken care of! Highly recommend this or any InRetreat with Nina! You're definitely in great hands!”
— MINDY, 2024“We had the most wonderful time with Nina at Lentorre! Every day was a new adventure. Our group got on fabulously and although not proficient Yogi's we loved every moment of the yoga and the meditations. At Lentorre whenever I had a free moment I would slip off with my camera down to the hide - the likes of which I have never encountered! There was a refreshment fridge, reference books, freshly made up beds and an Askari you would keep watch and wake you up at night if something of interest came to drink at the waterhole. Amazing!! Nina you were wonderful! I loved our yoga sessions and our walks with meditation.”
— DOUNE, 2024“Nina's yoga retreats are nothing short of amazing. From her seasoned teaching -- embedding deep spoken wisdom alongside incredibly skilled asana instructions made each session a deeply spiritual experience. The accommodations she selected only added to the richness of the experience overall -- luxuriating in small boutique hotels that pampered to your senses with high quality bath products, spa robes, cushy towels and crisp linens. And to top it all off the off-site experiences Nina curated were simply magical!! From wildly successful game drives which revealed such a rich array of wildlife, including the elusive cheetah, countless elephants, hippos, giraffes, lions on a kill, zebras, antelope, and a seemingly endless variety of birds, to being transported by camel at sunset to a remote location in the bush to dine under a canopy of stars was nothing short of magical.”

Where this retreat is located
OLKIRIMATIAN CONSERVANCY
Journey with us deep in the heart of the Great Rift Valley, beyond the volcanic lunar landscape surrounding the soda lakes of Magadi and Natron on the southern border between Kenya and Tanzania. This area is home to some of the most incredible scenery and biodiversity you could ever wish for - salt lakes to fresh water rivers and springs, salt pans to savannah, mountains and rocky escarpment to dense forest. Olkiramatian is also the ancestral home of the Masai community, who continue to live here with their traditional lifestyle and heritage intact thanks to the responsible tourism and sustainable conservation of the area. Expect average temperatures in July: maximum 29°C/ 85°F - minimum 13°C/ 56°F
LAMU ARCHIPELAGO
Lamu Archipelago is a small group of islands situated on Kenya’s northern coast line. It is made up of Lamu, Manda, Pate and Kiwayu Islands. Lamu is steeped in history, dating back to the 12th century, and was an important trading town due to its unique location along the Arabian, Indian and African trade routes. You can feel this synergy of cultural influence today, mixed with distinctive Swahili architecture. We will be retreating on Manda Island, which is secluded and quiet, enjoying wonderful views of the Indian ocean, Shela beach and dunes, and Lamu town. Expect average temperatures in July: maximum 30°C/ 86°F - minimum 23°C/ 74°F
