Location
Pelion is an unspoiled mountain peninsula situated on the Greek mainland between Athens and Thessaloniki. The apostrophe-shaped peninsula is covered in lush indigenous forests, ancient rock formations, olive and fruit groves, and quaint villages with breathtaking views over the Pagasetic Gulf. There is a splendid blend of rugged green mountain vistas and rocky cliffs with coves kissing sparklingly clear azure seas. Pelion is the mythical home of Chiron, the wisest of the centaurs, who lived in a cave in the mountains and educated Achilles, the great hero of the Trojan war, in the healing arts. This ancient precedent of Pelion as a place of natural healing and wisdom is evident today, as locals engage in small, honest and lively businesses that sustainably promote regional biodiversity.
Pelion in spring and early autumn is delightful, with warm, lingering light that continues to invite us to the beaches. Expect temperatures low 15°C / high 27°C (low 59°F / high 80°F). Pelion in summer is hot. Expect temperatures low 20°C / high 32°C (low 68°F / high 90°F).
Villa
Pelion Homes is a collection of historic, stone-built villas clinging to the steep slopes of the Pelion peninsula, overlooking the Pagasetic Gulf. Villa Marlene is 380msq, with 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. It has a fully equipped kitchen, outside terrace and garden. It has a private swimming pool. Other amenities include: unlimited WiFi; hairdryers; BBQ; bluetooth stereo; TV; fully stocked kitchen; private parking; A/C.

All private retreats with InRetreat are fully customisable. Whilst we can recommend what package would be best suited to this particular location, it is up to you to determine the final dates, group size, inclusions and itinerary.

For this location we recommend 4 - 10 guests. Villa Marlene is a great venue for a milestone celebration, like a birthday, reunion or anniversary. It is a perfect venue for a mindful, life-defining private retreat.

Whilst Villa Marlene is far too large for a solo retreat, there are other villas nearby that would be better suited for a solo traveller, and we will gladly put together a custom retreat package for you at a nearby smaller villa. Contact us for further details.

As this is a private retreat, all excursions are dependent on what your preferences and budget is. Some recommendations include a guided half-day trip to Tsagkarada and Milopotomos, or a guided hike in the village nearby, Milies. You can also go sea kayaking, or rock climbing, or day yacht charter in the Pagasetic Gulf. Contact us for further details.

We have created a suggested retreat package with a private chef for the villa, who will prepare Greek-themed meals based on the group’s preferences. However, if you prefer to eat out at restaurants, or self-cater, this is also possible. Contact us to discuss.

Fly Thessaloniki Airport or Athens Airport, and then we can arrange a private taxi transfer for you and your group to Pelion. Alternatively, you can hire a car yourself and drive there. It is about 4 hours from Athens and 2.5hrs from Thessaloniki.

The deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel more than 60 days before the retreat start date, you forfeit your deposit. The balance payment is due 60 days prior to the retreat start. If you cancel within 60 days prior to the retreat, all payments made are non-refundable. We can, however, change the dates of your retreat if you request this more than 60 days prior to the start date. Date change and admin fees may apply.
